  • A Fashionable Wig Stand

story by Huang Fulin, Li Chengyang, Ni Cheng, Xiao Xuelian.

This story was created as part of a course taught by Mario Cams at the University of Macau. This is an object for the upper class and wealthy elites in mid-18th century France. Although its decoration includes elements of Chinese landscape painting and therefore makes it look like a product from China, it was manufactured in France. This wig stand is a mixture of two important 18th century fashions: wigs and chinoiserie.
